How do I get there?
Jami Mosque is located at 56 Boustead Avenue, Toronto, ON M6R 1Y9, and is accessible by public transit, walking, or driving. Here’s how you can reach the mosque:
1. Public Transit:
By Subway and Bus: The closest subway station is Keele Station on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth. From Keele Station, take the 89 Weston bus northbound and get off at Annette Street. From there, it's a short walk to the mosque.
By Streetcar: The 506 Carlton streetcar runs close to the mosque. You can disembark at the Howard Park Ave at Indian Road stop, and then it's a brief walk north to the mosque.
2. Walking:
If you're nearby, walking can be a pleasant way to get to Jami Mosque. The area around High Park is pedestrian-friendly, and the mosque is accessible from major roads like Dundas Street West and Keele Street.
3. Driving:
From the Greater Toronto Area (GTA): Access major highways like the 401, 407, or the QEW depending on your starting point. Use exit routes towards Toronto's city center or follow directions towards Bloor Street or Dundas Street West if you are closer to the city. From there, navigate towards Keele Street, which is a major road close to the mosque. Finally, turn onto Boustead Avenue where the mosque is located.
Parking: There is limited parking at the mosque. Please be sure to use the entrance at 38 Radford Avenue to access the parking. There is also street parking available around the mosque, but it’s limited.

A Nikah is a beautiful and sacred ceremony that celebrates the joining of two souls in love and commitment. Rooted in Islamic tradition, this ceremony brings together families and friends to witness and bless the couple as they embark on a new chapter of their journey together. It's a moment filled with joy, love, and the spirit of unity, symbolizing the beginning of a shared life. We are honored to invite you to share in this special occasion with us.
Who officiates the Nikah?
The Nikah will be officiated by Imam Shaykh Alaa Elsayed, a religious leader and scholar in Islam, who will ensure that the ceremony meets all legal requirements according to Islamic law.
What should guests wear to the Nikah?
Modest dress is recommended. Women should consider wearing long dresses or skirts with long sleeves, and men should wear suits or traditional attire if preferred. It's also respectful for women to bring a scarf to cover their heads, since the Nikah is held in a mosque.
How long does the Nikah ceremony last?
The actual ceremony typically lasts between 20 to 30 minutes. This will be followed by a lunch, hosted by us at Karahi Boys on Queen Street West.
Will there be separate seating arrangements?
There will be separate seating for men and women during the ceremony in keeping with the protocol in the mosque. Details on seating will be provided at the venue
Can we take photos during the Nikah?
You are free to take photos and videos during the ceremony, but we ask that you refrain from doing so during the parts of the ceremony involving prayer in keeping with the protocol in the mosque.
Is there a specific protocol to follow during the ceremony?
Guests are usually expected to maintain a respectful silence during the ceremony.
Are there any specific gifts or customs we should be aware of?
We are not expecting gifts. If you choose to gift us something, please consider contributing to our Honeymoon Fund or items on our registry. There will be limited space at the venue to collect and store gifts.
